Sony was not able to register the PS5 trademark in India causing delays for launch. After lots of legal documentation and answers looks like Sony has finally solved the PS5 trademark problem.
Earlier we informed our readers that Sony was not able to register the PS5 trademark and was registered by a Delhi resident Hitesh Aswani. Hitesh had registered the PS5 trademark way back in 2019.
But, was later opposed by Sony as they had already advertised their brand name. Although Sony & Playstation brand being around for long no doubt they would get a trademark issued for PS5.
As of now the PS5 trademark registered by Hitesh Aswani under application no. 4332863 has been withdrawn.
Now that there is no opposition Sony would finally get the PS5 trademark.
Update: Hence Hitesh has withdrawn the trademark Sony Interactive Media has urged to register their PS5 trademark as early as possible.
Here is the letter of withdrawal submitted by Hitesh Aswani –
Sony had earlier updated its website where Playstation 5 will be available for the Indian audience on November 19. But, it was taken down after few hours.
Sony would be reluctant to release the newer PS5 without the trademark. So, the player has to wait until the complete access of the trademark to Sony.
Sony earlier announced PS5 Pricing for India being –
