Ryzen 5000 Series Processors
Four Ryzen Processors are included in the 5000 Series. You can choose these processors as per your requirement. But first, let’s have a look at their specifications.
|Processor Name||Ryzen 5 5600X||Ryzen 7 5800X||Ryzen 9 5900X||Ryzen 9 5950X|
|No. of cores||6||8||12||16|
|No. of threads||12||16||24||32|
All of the Ryzen 5000 Series processors will support Ryzen 400 Series motherboard. But the support for the motherboard will be enabled by the BIOS update, which is expected to be available from Jan 2021. This totally depends upon the motherboard manufacturer.
Ryzen 5000 Series supports DDR4 RAM, and AMD has not stated yet if it supports DDR5 RAM. The next generation of processors that will be built on Zen 4 architecture will support AM5 socket & DDR5 RAM. Zen 4 architecture is set to be built on 5nm.
RAM with a memory speed of 2666MHz should be the minimum that we recommend. There are several RAM that can be overclocked beyond 4400MHz. If you have a motherboard that supports overclocking, be sure to go with the RAM that can be easily overclocked for better performance.
Now let’s take a look at the RAM for Ryzen 5000 processor.

1. Patriot Viper Steel Series DDR4 4400MHz
Patriot Viper Steel is the best RAM for Ryzen 5000 Series processor. Supports almost all the AMD DDR4 motherboard – the one we recommend is TUF GAMING X570-PRO.
As this Viper Steel Series RAM supports 4400MHz, it highly benefits gaming or graphical tasks. Talking more about the speed, this particular RAM has a base frequency of 2133MHz & a maximum frequency of 4400MHz with XMP 2.0/AMP. Also, it does support backward-compatible frequency as it will adjust the speed required for a particular task.
The RAM has an aluminum heat shield, which exempts heating caused by overclocking the RAM. The sides of the RAM are gunmetal grey.
Patriot Viper Steel is a bit expensive but can be really productive if you have Ryzen 5000 Series CPU & looking for the best performance.
We recommend using XMP 2.0 for this RAM if you are only using one set of this particular RAM.
2. Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 3600MHz
The next we have is Corsair Vengeance LPX, and this is a DDR4 RAM that can be clocked at 3600MHz. There is another version of Corsair Vengeance with the same specification but comes with RGB lighting, which we will see further in the article.
Corsair Vengeance LPX is the best budge RAM for Ryzen 5000 Series Processors. The RAM supports the majority of the AMD DDR4 motherboard & would give optimized performance.
If you have little to no knowledge about overclocking RAM, then you can buy this particular RAM. It will automatically adjust the compatible memory speed required. You plug it into your motherboard and forget it. But so that you know, it supports XMP 2.0. As the RAM supports XMP 2.0, you will overclock it on the AMD motherboard through AMP.
Just like Viper Series, this Corsair Vengeance LPX RAM also has an aluminum heat spreader.
This RAM has 34mm of height, which would fit in almost all motherboards easily.
Corsair Vengeance LPX RAM, which supports Ryzen 5000 Series, is available in multiple colors to match your system. White, Black, Blue & Red are the colors that you can choose from.
